1. Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and Raya s.r.o., IČO 23377496, with its registered office at K Horoměřicům 1182/53, 165 00 Praha 6 – Suchdol, Czech Republic, entered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, file C 426110 (“Raya”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Maeve iPhone app, Maeve in the browser and getmaeve.co (together, “Maeve”).
By installing or using Maeve you agree to these terms and confirm you are at least 16. If you do not agree, please do not use Maeve.
2. Your licence to use Maeve
Maeve is licensed to you, not sold. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for yourself, for non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control, in line with these terms. Maeve, its design, text and code remain ours or our licensors'.
Unless the law allows it anyway, you agree not to:
- copy, modify, translate or build derivative works from Maeve
- reverse engineer, decompile or try to get at its source code
- rent, sell, sublicense or otherwise make Maeve available to others
- scrape it, use bots against it, or overload, break or work around its security
- remove copyright or trademark notices
- use Maeve to harm other people or break the law
3. What Maeve is, and what it is not
Maeve's forecasts, energy numbers and suggestions are estimates from what you tell it and what is in your calendar. They are general information for planning your week. They can be wrong, and cycles vary.
Do not use Maeve to diagnose, prevent or treat any condition, to avoid or plan a pregnancy, or as a reason to change or stop a treatment. Maeve does not provide healthcare services. You decide what to do with what it shows you.
Your pattern, the chart comparing each phase, the count of hard days by phase and the doctor report all show what you logged in your check-ins. They are not a diagnosis of PMS, PMDD or anything else, and the doctor report is a record for you to take to a doctor if you choose, not a medical opinion.
Maeve never edits, moves or deletes your existing events. When it suggests adding something, such as a focus block, a quiet day or a break, it opens a pre-filled event in your calendar and you decide whether to save it. What you save, and who can see it in your calendar, is up to you.
If you turn on Smarter suggestions, which needs your consent in the app, an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) helps choose and word them. Maeve checks every suggestion against your calendar before showing it, but AI can still misread a meeting. What it is sent is in the privacy policy. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis line straight away. Maeve cannot help in an emergency.
4. Your account and your data
To use Maeve you need an account. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, with Apple or with Google; there is no password. Keep access to that email or account to yourself, because whoever can sign in as you can see your Maeve data. One account is for one person.
Your data is yours. When you create your account you agree, separately from these terms, that Maeve stores your cycle, check-ins, feelings, symptoms, notes and the rest of your Maeve data with your account on its servers in the EU, and uses it to run Maeve for you: your account, sync and restore, forecasts, plans and suggestions. What Maeve stores, where and why is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
So that we can do this, you give Raya a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy and process what you put into Maeve (your logs, check-ins, notes and settings), to run Maeve for you and for the choices you turn on below. The licence ends when you delete your account, apart from de-identified data as described at the end of this section.
Some uses are your choice, in Settings → Privacy choices. You can change each of them at any time, and saying no changes nothing else about Maeve:
- Usage stats: which features get used (PostHog, EU). Never your health data, never linked to your account.
- Help improve Maeve: we analyse de-identified health and usage data to improve forecasts and features, including training Maeve's own models.
- Research: de-identified data may be shared with vetted research partners. There are none today; we name each one in the privacy policy before sharing anything with it.
- Tips and offers: personalised tips and offers, including from partners, based on how you use Maeve. Partners never receive your health data.
Research, Help improve Maeve and Tips and offers are off until you turn them on. Advertising measurement and cross-app tracking are not in use; they would only ever run if you allowed them, and never receive your health data.
We never sell your personal data. You can export your data from Settings, and delete your account and everything in it from Settings → Account at any time. De-identified and aggregated data that can no longer identify you, such as statistics and models built from it, is not your personal data: we may keep and use it after you delete your account.
5. Connected services
Maeve can connect to services run by others, such as Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Calendar, Apple Health and Oura. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for content on third-party websites Maeve links to.
6. Beta and updates
Maeve is in beta. Features will change, sometimes because of what you tell us, and some may be added or removed. We will release updates to fix problems and improve Maeve; some may be needed for it to keep working. We will keep the parts you have paid for working as described for the period you paid for.
7. Subscription
Maeve's full features need a subscription, bought in the app through Apple's App Store, monthly or yearly. Your 14-day trial starts when you finish setup on mobile and does not require a purchase. After the trial, Plan requires Premium; the free features remain available. Mac access is included only once a paid subscription starts. The price, billing period and included features are shown before you confirm a purchase. Apple charges you, not us.
- The mobile trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. If you choose to subscribe, Apple charges you when you confirm, unless the App Store explicitly shows a different offer. Any App Store free trial does not unlock Mac access until payment occurs.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before it renews. Deleting the app or your Maeve account does not cancel it.
- If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Your data stays in your account and you can still export it or delete the account.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules, which include your right as an EU or UK consumer to withdraw within 14 days. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we raise the price, we tell you in advance and Apple asks for your agreement where the law requires it. You can cancel before the new price applies.
8. Ending these terms
You can stop using Maeve at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Account and cancelling anything you pay for. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, harm Maeve or other people, or if the law requires it. If we stop offering Maeve altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data, delete your account and the data in it, and refund the unused part of anything you paid us for directly.
9. Liability
We build Maeve with care, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors, or right about your cycle or your week. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, or for decisions you make based on Maeve's estimates, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
None of this limits our liability for harm to life or health, for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
10. Apple
If you got Maeve from the App Store: these terms are between you and Raya, not Apple. Raya, not Apple, is responsible for Maeve, its maintenance and support, and for any claims about it, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims and claims that it infringes someone else's rights. Apple has no warranty obligation for Maeve beyond refunding the purchase price if it fails to meet any applicable warranty and you tell Apple. Your licence is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store usage rules. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Czech law. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country, and you can bring a claim in its courts. If something goes wrong, please email us first; most things can be fixed quickly. Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Maeve or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Maeve and cancel before the change applies.
13. The rest
If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Maeve, and we will tell you if that happens; your rights will not be reduced. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
